Smart Farm of Barrington Announces 2nd Annual Farm to Table Dinner

Smart Farm of Barrington is proud to announce its Second Annual Farm to Table dinner will take place on Saturday, September 12, at the Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital Barn, 450 W. Highway 22, in Barrington. Drinks and a tour of Smart Farm will start at 5:30 pm with dinner to follow at 6:30 pm.

This event will be a fun and delicious fundraiser to support Smart Farm as well as an opportunity to enjoy an evening connecting Farm, Food, and Community.

The dinner, featuring locally grown foods, will be masterfully prepared by Chef Zak Dolezal of Dukes Alehouse and Kitchen, Chef Michael Formichella of The Anvil Club, and Jessica Grelle, owner of Mama Jess Organic Pasta Sauces. Music by Ashley Behrendt will also be part of this lovely evening.

During the 2014 growing season, Smart Farm raised and donated over 7,500 pounds of fresh produce to area food pantries. Smart Farm has also established eleven beehives and expects a nice harvest of honey this year. Smart Farm is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which also serves as an educational resource for sustainable gardening practices and promotes healthy eating and living an environmentally friendly lifestyle.
