Hometown history

Marshall Krolick, an authority on the 8th Illinois Cavalry, presents a program about the life of Marcellus Jones, an officer in Company E of the Eighth Regiment, who fired the first shot at Gettysburg during the Civil War. Jones' hometown was Danby, Illinois, which is now the village of Glen Ellyn. The program takes place at the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main St., Glen Ellyn. $5 at the door.
