Lambs Farm Raises $35,000 From Popcorn Days

Now in its seventh year, Lambs Farm's Popcorn Days expanded its reach by enlisting surrounding corporations to host Popcorn Days in their workplaces and adding more local retailers, restaurants and banks to the circle of partners, volunteers and locations.

"We were delighted to have added so many corporate neighbors to our Popcorn Days event this year, "said President & CEO of Lambs Farm Dianne Yaconetti. "The success of this fundraising event is directly related to the number of locations -- and volunteers - we can enlist and deploy. Because many of our programs and services receive no government funding, we depend on the generosity of individuals, companies and community businesses to contribute during Popcorn Days," she added.

Approximately 125 volunteers distributed nearly 50,000 bags of popcorn, which were labeled and boxed by Lambs Farm Participants. Generously donated by The Popcorn Factory, the complimentary caramel corn was distributed in 23 communities at 75 locations. An anonymous donor purchased special charity boxes and canisters for new partners, which meant that 100 percent of the dollars raised will directly benefit programs for the men and women at Lambs Farm.

Corporations who hosted Popcorn Days in their lobbies, cafeterias or desk tops, included:

Abbvie, Akorn Pharmaceuticals, Allstate, Beam Suntory, Brightstar, Cardinal Health, Idex, Sodexho/Siemens Health, Trustmark, UL, United Stationers and Zurich.

Other invaluable partners in Lake County included many Jewel, Sunset Foods, Starbucks, Wal-Mart and Ace stores, in addition to smaller retailers, restaurants and banks, including Libertyville's Julie's Studio, Lee's Famous Donuts, Mickey Finns, O'Reilly's Furniture, Petranke's Pharmacy, Shakou, Townee Square, Highland Park's Once Upon a Bagel, Mundelein's Northside Community Bank, Vernon Hill's Pearle Vision and many more.
