'Serving Communities Together Patch' awarded by Dundee Lions

At the recent annual Blue and Gold Banquet for Cub Scout Pack 36, the Dundee Township Lions Club awarded four pack members the "Serving Communities Together Patch."

This is a patch designed by Lions Club International to recognize Scouts who have served alongside the Lions Club within the community. In 2014, the following Scouts have worked six hours or more in Dundee Township Lions Club events. They were: Andrew Lea, Andrew Bober, Tyler Sugel, and Sean Trznadel. Presenting the awards from the Lions were Mike Buhrmann and Ernie Gamino.

In addition, the Dundee Township Lions presented the leaders of Pack 36 $1,000 to support scouting and as a thank you for all of their hours in assisting the Lions Club during the Christmas tree sales.

Mike Buhrmann, Lions chairman for Christmas tree sales, said without the Scouts and their leaders it would be impossible for the Lions to be successful with their largest fundraiser for charity.

The Dundee Township Lions meet for dinner at 6:30 p.m. the first and third Thursdays at the Village Squire, 125 Washington St. in West Dundee. To make reservations or for details, call Jim McClung, president, at (847) 567-7127. visit www.dundeelions.org or follow the club on Facebook.
