Side Street Studio Arts presents 2nd annual Jingle Bell Jam!

ELGIN, Ill. - Side Street Studio Arts, 15 Ziegler Court in downtown Elgin, will be hosting their second annual "Jingle Bell Jam!," a day of music, featuring a wide range of area bands and solo musicians.

The event will run from 2 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20.

It has expanded this year to include two additional venues - Next Door Theater at 15½ Ziegler Court, and Rediscover Records at 9 S. Spring St.

"Jingle Bell Jam!" is open to the public, with a $12 suggested donation at the door; $2 from every $12 donation will go to Food for Greater Elgin's Holiday Fund Drive.

The lineup of artists represents the Elgin-area music scene with a wide variety of musical genres, including rock, experimental, singer-songwriter, and more.

"This was one of my favorite events last year," said Erin Rehberg, founder and director. "We've been around almost two years now, and we continue to be inspired by the range of amazing musical talent in the Elgin area. 'Jingle Bell Jam!' is the perfect sampling of this talent."

Performers include: Original Mechanical Mouse, Ness, Trocar Buttons, Little Yellow Dog, Copper Harbor, 13-Monsters, Crybaby, Red Sulfur Springs, The Belvedieres, Man Bites Dog, The Shakes & Rumbles, and Koopa and Los Mysterios.

Side Street Studio Arts was founded in 2013 by Elgin residents Tanner Melvin and Erin Rehberg. Currently under the direction of Amanda Harris, Melvin, and Rehberg, it has become an outlet for the Elgin arts scene providing accessible space encouraging all aspects of the artistic process from creation to curation.

Rediscover Records, located in downtown Elgin, is an indie record shop specializing in vinyl in Elgin.

Food For Greater Elgin is a large fast-growing Client Choice Food Pantry serving low-income residents in Elgin and South Elgin. Just three years at its warehouse/office complex, Food For Greater Elgin is currently providing food assistance to 1,200 families each month, feeding 5,500 individuals in those households, of whom nearly half are children.

2-2:45 p.m.: Original Mechanical Mouse, an indie band from Rockford, at Next Door Theater, 15½ Ziegler Court

2:45-3:30 p.m.: Ness at Side Street Studio Arts, 15 Ziegler Court

3:30-4:15 p.m.: Trocar Buttons at Next Door Theater

4:15-5 p.m.: Little Yellow Dog at Side Street Studio Arts

5-5:45 p.m.: Copper Harbor at Next Door Theater

5:45-6:30 p.m. 13-Monsters at Side Street Studio Arts

6:30-7:15 p.m.: Crybaby at Rediscover Records, 9 S. Spring St.

7:15-8 p.m.: Red Sulfur Springs at Side Street Studio Arts

8-8:45 p.m.: The Belvedieres at Rediscover Records

8:30-9:15 p.m.: Man Bites Dog at Next Door Theater

9:15-10 p.m.: The Shakes & Rumbles at Rediscover Records

10-11 p.m.: Koop & Los Mysterios at Side Street Studio Arts
