FaithBridge to hold interfaith Thanksgiving service Nov. 23

Members of various local faith communities will come together at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, at the Blue Lotus Temple, 221 Dean St. in Woodstock, for the eighth annual Community Interfaith Thanksgiving Celebration.

The theme of this year's event is "Melodies of Gratitude." The evening will include songs, meditations and chants of gratitude from various faith communities, including followers of the Hindu, Jewish, Christian, Islamic and Buddhist faiths.

The event is being sponsored by the FaithBridge Interfaith Association, a consortium of community religious groups that seek to promote "mutual understanding and respectful relationships among diverse religious communities and advancing unity and diversity for the common good."

As gratitude is something all humans have in common, FaithBridge holds the event on the Sunday before Thanksgiving each year.

All are invited to take part to give thanks, enjoy fellowship and make an offering in support of local food pantries.
