Volley for the Cure Fundraiser to be Hosted by Palatine Pirates

Palatine High School Girls Volleyball Program

The volleyball programs from Palatine High School and Hoffman Estates High School are teaming up once again to fight against Breast Cancer. On Saturday, October 2, 2014 the two programs will be competing in their annual Volley for the Cure match. The match will be dedicated to all the men and women who have been touched by Breast Cancer with hopes that this devastating disease will one day be cured.

According to Joyce Richardson, Assistant Girls Volleyball Coach at Palatine High School, "Palatine and Hoffman Estates High Schools are proud to continue the tradition of raising money toward breast cancer through Volley for the Cure. Here in the Palatine Volleyball family, we have been affected by this disease first hand. Volley for the Cure is a way to demonstrate our support for our family, friends, and caregivers who have gone through the fight, are in the fight, or will be in the fight against breast cancer."

This year's Volley for the Cure event will be hosted by the Pirates at Palatine High School, 1111 N. Rohlwing Road, Palatine, IL. At 5:00pm the Junior Varsity, Freshman A, and Freshman B teams will play, followed by the Varsity and Sophomore teams at 6:00pm.

Admission to the event is $2; admission is free for students. A bake sale and prize raffle will also be held. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game, and all proceeds from this event will benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
