Lions Annual Pancake Breakfast at Heritage Fest

The Lions served up over 300 breakfasts at the Heritage Fest this past Sunday morning. The menu of pancakes, sausages with biscuits ant gravy was a real hit.

This is a big project but one we enjoy putting on for the community according to Lion President, Jim McClung. Twenty Lions contributed to the preparation. The Cub Scouts from Pack 36 under the direction of Doug Bober also assisted in serving of the juice and cleaning off the tables. Cub Scouts who came to the breakfast dressed in full uniform also got to eat free.

As a part of the Breakfast there was also a 50/50 raffle/ plus prizes to add to the fun. A variety of stores and restaurants donate prizes. Among those include: Village Pizza, Dominoes, Haegar pottery, Van's Custard, Super Bounce, Walmart, Paintball Explosion and Starbucks.

All of the profits from the breakfast, and raffles go back to the community as the Lions donates the money to local charities. An extra bonus this year was the winner of the 50/50 raffle. Ryan Trommer of West Dundee contributed his winnings back to the Lions Charity funds. This really demonstrates the Community support of the Lions according to Lion Herb Beck who ran the raffle.
