Gridlock Ministries Partners with Churches to Fight Human Trafficking

Church leaders are invited to participate in Pastors Against Child Trafficking (PACT) meetings this summer held jointly by local churches and Gridlock Ministries.

The first will be held from 10-11:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 24 in Room B207 of Willow Creek Community Church, 67 Algonquin Rd, South Barrington. Anne Rand, head of Willow Creek's Human Trafficking Ministry, will discuss the church's outreach and discipleship activities on behalf of human trafficking victims and survivors. Representatives of Gridlock Ministries will discuss rescue and intervention strategies. The PACT meeting will include development of a prayer request list for subsequent distribution to church leaders. Refreshments will be provided.

The second PACT meeting is scheduled from 10-11:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 29, in Room 3 of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 1234 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights. Liz McKay, Chair of Adult Education at Our Saviour's, will discuss a five-week study on human trafficking that she implemented in spring. Gridlock Ministries representatives will discuss the Free Ride College Initiative for survivors of trafficking. The meeting will include an open forum for church leaders to share questions and ideas on how to build awareness about human trafficking in their congregations and communities. Refreshments will be provided.
