On Tuesday, Nov. 13, 50 guests from five area senior living communities and the Crystal Lake Park District senior programs attended an afternoon concert in 'the Listening Room' at Lakeside Legacy Arts Park.
Guests were entertained by the duo of PC and Burke, made up of Phil Ciancio and Keith Burke. Siobhan Cottone, Lakeside's Executive Director said of the afternoon crowd, "They left energized and enthusiastic. The crowd clapped and sang-along to classics!" She added, "We plan on having more daytime programing for seniors and families. 'the Listening Room' is for all ages to enjoy. Music is a language that is universal and ties us all together, and this venue will celebrate that!"

The concert was an opportunity for seniors and program directors from the Crystal Lake Park District and five senior living communities to learn more about the venue, upcoming concerts, and programs. The communities that attended included: Alden Estates of Barrington, Lake Barrington Woods, Garlands of Barrington, Crystal Lake Park District, and Senior Services of McHenry County.
The crowd enjoyed music by saxophonist Phil Ciancio and pianist Keith Burke. They entertained the audience with upbeat vocals and easy listening music that was fun. House Manager, Roger Reupert, joined in on his trumpet for a few songs. Reupert said, "The crowd joined in too! They sang along to classics like 'Let Me Call You Sweetheart', 'Strumming on the Old Banjo', and many others."
The upcoming performances at 'the Listening Room' include the "Thanksgiving Blues Jam" on Saturday, Nov. 30. Seat sare selling fast.
