Downers Grove North's Heflin throws perfect game

Elaine Heflin tossed her second perfect game of the season, striking out 14, and No. 8 Downers Grove North beat York 5-0 on Friday.

Carolyn Nojiri and Annie Lusher homered for the Trojans (10-5, 3-0 West Suburban Silver), and Heflin (9-3) did the rest.

Waubonsie Valley 11, Lake Park 1:

Amanda Lack homered to lead off the game, and Amanda Minahan, Megan Grannan and Mel Koulos later went deep for the No. 9 Warriors (14-3, 8-1 Upstate Eight Conference) in Roselle. Koulos' was a three-run shot in the sixth, and Waubonsie broke it open with a sixth-run seventh. Winning pitcher Shannon Hohman (12-3) struck out five. Sam Cummings' seventh-inning homer accounted for the lone run for No. 11 Lake Park (14-5, 6-3).

Montini 11, St. Francis 3:

Isabell Alexander homered on the first pitch of the bottom of the first inning, Shaylee Lewis added a go-ahead three-run blast later in the inning and Alyssa Sclafani hit her sixth of the year in the sixth for the Broncos (15-3, 9-0 Suburban Christian Conference Blue), who won their ninth straight game. Winning pitcher Lauren Trojnar (9-2) struck out eight. Alexander, hitting .651 on the year, was 4-for-4 for the day.

Neuqua Valley 10, Metea Valley 6:

Kelsey Dominguez was 2-for-5 with 3 RBI, Jamie O'Brien 3-for-5 and Sydney Foran doubled and drove in 2 runs for the visiting Wildcats (9-6, 6-2 Upstate Eight). Alyssa Coletto and Kara Leckinger homered and Alise Perna was 3-for-4 with a double for Metea (4-10, 4-5).

Glenbard North 1, Wheaton North 0:

Cece Dopart (3-0) threw a shutout and Ashley Stiver and Sarah Petzold each went 2-for-3, Stiver driving in the game's lone run for the No. 4 Panthers (10-2, 3-1 DuPage Valley Conference).

Addison Trail 9, Leyden 5:

Winning pitcher Crystal Marinelli had a triple and a single, Alex DiSilvio a double and a single and Danielle Ciaglia drove in 3 runs for the Blazers (8-7, 2-2 West Suburban Gold).

Downers Grove South 4, Morton 1:

Freshman Kristen Bialek was 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored for the Mustangs (10-5, 4-0 West Suburban Gold), who broke a 1-1 tie with a three-run fourth and went on to their sixth straight win. Caitlyn Daly was 2-for-3 with a triple and a run scored.

Manteno 8, Lisle 5:

Summer Stitt went 3-for-4 with a homer and 2 runs scored and Isabella Daly was 3-for-3 with a walk and 2 RBI for the Lions (10-5, 6-4 Interstate Eight Conference).

Chicago Christian 3, Wheaton Academy 0:

Davina Gutierrez tossed a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts for Chicago Christian (6-3). Marissa Gagliano had 2 hits for Wheaton Academy (2-7, 2-5 Suburban Christian).
