Toys for Tots Breakfast with Santa Dec. 1

Kim's Black Belt Academy and Kyuki-Do Martial Arts of Elgin will be hosting "Breakfast with Santa" to help raise donations for Toys for Tots on Saturday, Dec. 1.

The Marine Corps League Elgin Detachment 077 in partnership with the academies, located at 5 S. Spring St. and 792 S. McLean Blvd., as a designated Toys for Tots drop-off centers.

New unwrapped toys are being solicited until Dec. 1.

The academies are available for drop-offs Monday through Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

To make a donation, checks payable to Marine Corps League Elgin Detachment 077 (Toys for Tots) can be mailed to Kim's Black Belt Academy, 5 S. Spring St., Elgin, IL 60120.

On the final day of the toy drive, Kyuki-Do Martial Arts of Elgin will be hosting a "Breakfast with Santa."

Families making donations between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Dec. 1 will be treated to an appearance by (including pictures with) Santa, refreshments, door prizes and self-defense workshops. Door prizes will include two months of Martial Arts Training ($300 value) or a Martial Arts Birthday Party ($195 value), in addition to products and services donated from local downtown Elgin businesses.

“We have been part of the Elgin community for 45 years and appreciate the opportunity to take a leadership role in a worthwhile endeavor such as this,” mentions Rick Steinmaier, the Chief Instructor of the academy.
