Boys soccer/Fox Valley roundup

Larkin's boys soccer team got caught looking ahead to today's match with rival Elgin and lost a 2-1 nonconference decision to Highland Park Monday.

"We were looking ahead," said Larkin coach Ken Hall. "We took Highland Park too lightly."

Erik Rodriguez scored the only goal of the game for the Royals (10-4) and Aldaire Dominguez had 3 saves in the net.

Cary-Grove 2, McHenry 1: The Trojans remained unbeaten on the season as Mike McKune scored a goal and then assisted on Michael Conway's game-winner in the second half in Fox Valley Conference Valley Division action. Kevin Schenk had 4 saves in goal for Cary-Grove (11-0-2, 1-0).

Huntley 7, CL Central 0: Lucas Baker scored 4 goals and Manuel Menjivar had a hat trick to lead the Red Raiders to an FVC crossover win. Auston Emery was untested in the net for Huntley (11-3-1).
