Hoffman Estates hosts college readiness seminar

The Hoffman Estates Youth Commission will present a College Readiness Seminar and Scholarship Panel from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 5 at Village Hall, 1900 Hassell Road.

The event will explain how three different families were able to get their four children through college without any major out-of-pocket expenses or student loans. Volunteer speakers will share tips, techniques and knowledge that could help your family avoid the rising cost of college.

Speakers will address topics including: Middle School Matters, College Readiness Seminar for 9th and 10th Graders, Junior and Senior Years in High School Matters, and a Scholarship Panel and Open Discussion. Panelists include three mothers and a former college financial aid director with more than 25 years’ experience.
