A little restraint on taxes would help

Gosh, all the local taxing units seem to think that everyone has excess money to pay for their wants and needs. Well, I can’t. I live on a fixed income, and this is not easy.

Here are some increases noted: Cook County +5.7 percent; Forest preserve +4.0 percent; Metro water +4 percent; mosquito +12 percent; Arlington Heights, +14 percent; park district +14 percent; District 25 +14 percent; District 214 +12 percent; library +10 percent. MY increase was ZERO percent this year.

How do I deal with this excessive increase? Move? That costs money too. Maybe some restraint in the public sector would help?
