Scouting the weekend in DuPage boys basketball

Neuqua Valley (6-0, 2-0) at Waubonsie Valley (5-1, 1-0)

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Outlook: The District 204 rivalry resumes. Neuqua coach Todd Sutton called this a rebuilding year, and Sam Johnson, John Stocki, Alex Karkazis and Jabari Sandifer have built a fast start. Ditto at Waubonsie, where soph guard Jared Brownridge has height to work with in 6-5 Austin Keys and 6-8 Tyler Edmondson.

Notre Dame (7-0, 1-0) at

Benet (5-0, 1-0)

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Outlook: A key early clash in the East Suburban Catholic. Can the Dons counter 7-foot Benet center Frank Kaminsky in the post, and can the Redwings handle 6-5 Quinton Chievous and Rodney Pryor, who scored a career-high 34 against Carmel? Benet point guard Dave Sobolewski certainly could be the difference-maker.

York (4-1) at

Glenbard East (5-0)

When: 6 p.m. Saturday.

Outlook: Both sides have to negotiate Friday conference games before this matchup of high-powered talent. The Dukes offer 6-foot-3 Will Sullivan, who's averaging 20 points despite calf and ankle issues. Glenbard East has point guard Zach Miller and 6-4 Johnny Hill, who are both capable of huge offensive games.
