Scouting McHenry at Dundee-Crown

McHenry (0-5, 0-1) at Dundee-Crown (0-5, 0-1)

When: 7:15 p.m. Friday at the D-C Bowl

Last year: McHenry 42, Dundee-Crown 20

Last week: Crystal Lake South 40, Dundee-Crown 0; Huntley 43, McHenry 13

Outlook: The scoreboard operator could be busy. Dundee-Crown allows 34.8 points per game; McHenry is giving up 40.4. Therein lies a reason each team enters Week 6 seeking its first victory of the season. The Chargers may be without the services of senior running back Danny Sharp (ankle), who had not practiced as of Wednesday, and backup running back Ardian Asani (elbow). Both were hurt in the Crystal Lake South game last week. D-C quarterback Tanner Kotlan leads the area with 1,048 passing yards, but he also leads the area in interceptions (12). McHenry's Robert Tonyan has thrived in the spread offense, throwing for 1,448 yards and 11 touchdowns against 5 interceptions. "We have to slow them down because they can move the ball all over the place," D-C coach Mike Davis said. "Their quarterback is good and they have good wide receivers. They probably throw the ball 40 times a game. Last week they moved the ball up and down the field against Huntley, but they made some mistakes. Our offense has got to do something positive and avoid those big mistakes. If we do that, we'll be in good shape." Expect D-C to revive the no-huddle offense after shelving it last week for the most part.
