Schalk scores 32 as Wheaton North upends Glenbard North

Behind a career-high 32 points from junior Jeff Schalk, host Wheaton North snapped a three-game losing streak as well as Glenbard North's four-game winning streak, beating the Panthers 88-81 in the DuPage Valley.

Wheaton North (8-12, 3-6) had four double-figure scorers. Following Schalk were Jordan Wayheart with 15 points, Nick Barry with 14 and 13 rebounds and Mike Small with 10 points. Glenbard North (10-9, 4-5) got a team-high 28 points from James Fleming, 19 from Reggie Davis, 15 from Brandon Clark and 10 from Josh Fleming.

Glenbard East 80, West Chicago 41: Glenbard East (19-1, 9-0) remained unbeaten in the DuPage Valley, Jack Merrithey scoring 18 points to lead the Rams. Shawn Havenga scored 13, Kevin Priebe and Lee Skinner 12 apiece. Chad Driscoll scored 7 points to lead West Chicago (3-18, 1-8).

Proviso East 58, Hinsdale South 36: Visiting Proviso East (14-4, 8-0) stayed unbeaten in the West Suburban Gold, outscoring Hinsdale South 13-2 in the first quarter. Ryan Johnson's 9 points led the host Hornets (13-7, 3-5).
