Huntley church hosts Halloween Trunk-or-Treat

Children of the community are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes, have fun, and get treats during the "Trunk-or-Treat" event from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, in the church parking lot at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church, 10805 Main St. in Huntley.

Shepherd of the Prairie families and volunteers will provide decorated "trunks" filled with Halloween treats for children.

"Children are encouraged to visit each of our trunks to fill their Halloween bags with treats," said Jill Gillming, director of children and family ministry. "We will serve hot chocolate and popcorn and everyone will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite trunk, which will be awarded a first prize."

Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church, under the leadership of Senior Pastor Mark Boster and Pastor Ryan Mackey, has served the Huntley community for over 20 years. Visit www.sotp.org.
