Chicago Scots' 22st annual Kilted Classic golf tournament returns Sept. 28

Chicago Scots, the oldest nonprofit organization in Illinois, is celebrating Scotland's greatest contribution to the world of sports with its 22nd annual Kilted Classic golf tournament on Thursday, Sept. 28, at Cantigny Golf Course.

It will be 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the golf course, 27W270 Mack Road in Wheaton. Players ranging from novice to advanced can all enter the tournament as a foursome, pair, or single, or can be matched with a group after registering online at chicagoscots.org/classic/register/.

Special highlights will include a performance from the Highland Dancers while participants enjoy a taste of Scotland's finest with whisky, beer, and food stations. Test your knowledge with Scottish trivia, and participate in competitions like "Beat the Scot" and "Longest Drive," as well as the chance to win a bottle of whisky on every hole.

Kilts are not required, but highly encouraged! Those looking to rent a kilt can do so before the competitions begin by visiting the Rent a Kilt booth that will be available onsite.

"We're thrilled to be able to host our annual golf tournament for the 22st year this September," said Gus Noble, president of the Chicago Scots. "There's no better feeling than enjoying the game of golf amongst friends and family, and we look forward to seeing some new faces this year! This is always one of our favorite events of the year, not only because it is a good time, but it is all for a great cause."

Following all the fun on the links, golfers and spectators alike are then invited to stay for a casual dinner, cocktails and an auction to benefit Caledonia Senior Living & Memory Care, Chicago Scots' primary beneficiary for over 100 years that offers a range of services including sheltered care, intermediate care and skilled nursing, and memory care.

Registration for the event is $250 for an individual, $1,000 for a foursome, and $1,200 for a foursome and hole sponsor. Refunds are not available two weeks or less out from the tournament. Donations without participation are also always welcome.
