Celebrate Pride Month at Schaumburg Library
Schaumburg Township District Library is set to celebrate Pride Month with a variety of programs for all ages throughout June.
The Rainbow Celebration in Town Square near the Central Library on Thursday, June 29, will have crafts, music, a scavenger hunt and giveaways for all ages to celebrate love, acceptance and being who you are.
Throughout June, teens can stop by the Central Library Teen Place to pick up a rainbow keychain craft to complete, while supplies last.
On Thursday, June 8, the library's Social Justice Book Discussion for adults will have a conversation guided by the memoir "How We Fight for Our Lives" by Saeed Jones.
Kids ages 5-8 can celebrate individuality while reading "Ogilvy" by Deborah Underwood in Book Explorers on Thursday, June 22.
On Friday, June 23, kids ages 6-9 can join Art Studio to learn about artist and Illinois native Nina Chenel Abney and make their own work of art inspired by her style.
Schaumburg Township District Library's Central Library is at 130 S. Roselle Road, in Schaumburg. The Hoffman Estates Branch is at 1550 Hassell Road in Hoffman Estates, and the Hanover Park Branch is at 1266 Irving Park Road in Hanover Park.
