Bartlett's Global Arts Festival celebrates diversity
A community event celebrating cultural diversity and values to broaden knowledge, encourage acceptance and grow unity -- the seventh annual Global Arts Festival -- will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 10-11, at Apple Orchard Park, 620 W. Stearns Road, in Bartlett, near the corner of Stearns Road and Bartlett Avenue. Admission is free.
Immerse yourself in the colors and sounds of local cultures. On stage, local groups will perform culturally significant dance routines, play unique musical instruments and sing traditional ethnic songs. Visitors can get involved in a variety of family-oriented lawn games, crafts and activities.
Shop vendor booths filled with diverse wares and artists representing world cultures, including American folk and fine art. Discover interesting ethnic foods and beverages offered by local establishments.
New this year is Authors in the Park, a unique opportunity to interact with at least 10 local authors, learn about the creative process, discover the joy of reading, and spread the word about their works. Activities include book purchases, book signing, prize drawings and more.
