Parenting 4 Non-Violence honors Wilmette resident Phil Andrew at its 10th Anniversary Celebration and Fundraiser, June 11 - Chicago

Parenting 4 Non-Violence (P4NV) will honor Phil Andrew of Wilmette with the Pursuit of Peace Award at their 10th Anniversary Celebration and Fundraiser Sunday, June 11. The event will take place from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at St. Ignatius College Prep - 1076 West Roosevelt Road, Chicago. Participants can purchase tickets or donate at bit.ly/P4NVANNIVERSARY

The Pursuit of Peace Award recognizes the significant commitment and sustained contributions of an individual or organization in the pursuit of peace by helping to promote a culture of non-violence in the Chicago area. Phil has led strategic planning and direction of anti-violence initiatives through coalition building efforts, increased charitable presence in distressed neighborhoods, and the development and revitalization of programs to help reduce the violence-causing cycle of despair, racism, and poverty in Chicago. Phil is the Principal of PAX Group, LLC, a global crisis and conflict management agency dedicated to building safe, resilient, healthy organizations & communities.

The P4NV 10th Anniversary event raises money to support parenting education and family life skills workshops in Chicago for parents of children who reside in neighborhoods that experience high levels of violence - primarily focusing on underserved communities of color. These evidence-based workshops help parents develop skills that strengthen and support the family so that their children can survive and flourish personally, socially, and academically in today's world.

"Parenting 4 Non-Violence created a safe atmosphere for our parents in which all voices were heard and valued. During the sessions, parents were not only provided with valuable, research-based information, but were also provided, free of charge, with books and workbooks to help them learn and apply new parenting skills."

- Elsa Diaz-Santiago, Kinzie Elementary School
