Book lecture to discuss C.S. Lewis and the art of writing

On Wednesday, March 15, the Marion E. Wade Center at Wheaton College presents "C.S. Lewis on Writing & Writers," a lecture and book signing with editor David C. Downing.

Join Downing, a Wade co-director, in a discussion on the selection he compiled on C.S. Lewis's advice and insight on the art of writing.

Lewis was arguably the most influential Christian writer of the 20th century, so his advice on everything from topic selection to typing is well worth heeding.

It will be at 7 p.m. in Room 130 Bakke Auditorium, 351 E. Lincoln Ave. in Wheaton.

The lecture will be followed by a Q&A and then a book signing at the Wade Bookshop.

The book, published by Harper Collins, features over 100 excerpts - some short and some essay length - drawn from C.S. Lewis' wide body of letters, books, and essays. "On Writing (and Writers): A Miscellany of Advice and Opinions" brings together C.S. Lewis's reflections on the power, importance, and joy of a life dedicated to writing.

Downing is the co-director with his wife, Crystal Downing, of the Marion E. Wade Center at Wheaton College.

The books are available for purchase at the Wade Bookshop.

This event is free and open to the public. Guest parking is located in the parking lot on the east side of Washington Street. For more information, contact the Wade Center at (630) 752-5908 or wade@wheaton.edu.
