Addison Trail girl's varsity bowling team heads to state

Addison Trail High School girl's varsity bowling team is heading to state in Rockford this weekend.

This is the first time in the 57-year history of the school, that girl's bowling has advanced to state.

The girls were bowling conference champs with a 7-1 victory, tied for first with Morton High School.

After winning first place in the regional championships at Bowlero in Woodridge, with a total 5,326 pinfall on Jan. 30, they claimed the top 3rd spot at Sectionals at Suburbanite in Westmont on Feb. 11 with their score of 5,206.

Headed by Coach Rob Schader, the girls, Angie Ayala (sophomore), Grace Cannizzo (sophomore), Kylie Fiermuga (senior), Amelia Leslie (sophomore), Hannah Melone (senior), and Valentina Pizzoferrato (sophomore), will be competing for the top 12 on Friday, Feb. 17, and hoping to advance to the finals on Saturday, Feb. 18.

The AT Blazers girl's bowling team have strength with consistency and have brought that to every tournament. They've had an incredible, successful year, and have grown as a team and as individual bowlers. Let's go Blazers!
