Trackman Range opens at Cantigny Golf Academy

The installation is complete, and Cantigny Golf's driving range will never be the same. Introducing TrackMan Range, a radar-based ball tracking technology that promises to make practicing golf more fun, engaging, and productive.

"This is an investment in our future, and in our customers," said Matt Tullar, Cantigny PGA Head Golf Professional. "The TrackMan brand is well known by golfers who use launch monitors during their practice sessions, when being fitted for new clubs, or when watching the PGA Tour on TV.

"With TrackMan Range, a much broader range of players will benefit from the technology and what it offers," Tullar said. "This has something for everybody."

TrackMan Range is available in all 10 of Cantigny Golf Academy's climate-controlled hitting bays.

Each bay features a 27-inch touch-screen that displays pinpoint results for every shot.

The system tracks eight key data points such as carry distance, total distance, ball speed, and distance from the pin. Instant feedback contributes to a more engaging range experience for players of all skill levels.

This summer, golfers will enjoy TrackMan Range on Cantigny's grass hitting tees. 3-D rendering in the app replicates every detail of the Academy's practice range.

To get started, golfers first download the free TrackMan Golf app on their mobile device.

The app enables shot analysis during practice sessions and stores essential performance data.

Golfers can review their stats at any time in the app and know exactly how far and how high they hit each club in their bag.

The app's entertainment and virtual golf features also come to life on Cantigny's TrackMan-powered range. Games such as Bull's-eye and Capture the Flag bring a new dimension to golf practice and allow fun competitions with others. Golfers can also play simulated rounds on famous golf courses they might never visit in real life.

"TrackMan Range changes the very nature of our primary practice area," Tullar added, "and I think it will change the way our golfers think about practice itself. This is a step toward helping everyone enjoy the game even more."

Winter hours at the Cantigny Golf Academy are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Facilities are closed on Mondays.

Hitting bays can be reserved for 30 minutes or one hour by calling the Academy at (630) 260-8199.
