Fellowship Housing hosts 16th annual gala to empower local single moms

The nonprofit organization that exists to empower local single moms will once again host an elegant evening of fundraising while celebrating the extraordinary hardworking single moms they work with.

On March 4, Fellowship Housing will host its 16th annual gala in 2023 at the Chicago Marriott, Schaumburg. Dinner, live music, a live and silent auction, and wine pull will all feature in the evening. Most importantly, attendees will hear the vision of Fellowship Housing and stories of the amazing moms and their journey toward independence.

"We believe single moms are some of the hardest working people on the planet. It is our joy and honor to come alongside them in times of crisis so they can regain stability, break cycles of poverty, and build a new legacy for their families," says Executive Director Pam Orr. "The gala is a wonderful opportunity for us to come together to celebrate the staggering achievements of hardworking at-risk single moms and to empower them to build a new life for their families. On top of that, we have a lot of fun as well."

The organization offers two years of safe and affordable transitional housing to moms and their children, including financial training, accountability, and a focused path from financial crisis to long-term stability. Through the two-year pathway to independence, the moms within the program on average increase their income by $8,800, raise their credit score by 81 points, decrease debt by $20,250, increase savings by $9,540, and 88% move into independent housing of their choice upon graduating (46% of those buy their own home!). Over the past five years, Fellowship Housing has seen a 42% increase in the number of moms they serve, and Executive Director Pam Orr, looks forward to sharing the next five-year vision plan at the upcoming gala.

The gala will begin at 5:30 p.m. on March 4, 2023. Individual tickets, priced at $150, and a variety of sponsorships are available at www.fhcmoms.org/events. Attendees, and those not able to join on the night, can also bid for some exciting items in the online auction, a huge draw for the gala. Auction items will be announced on the Fellowship Housing website and social media channels soon.

Fellowship Housing is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization based in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Founded in 1991, for 31 years the organization has responded to the need for affordable, safe housing for single moms in the local community.
