Glenbard East students make connection between coding, music during Hour of Code

Representatives from CodeHS worked with students at Glenbard East High School during the National Computer Science Education Week.

The annual event is designed to inspire students to learn computer science and celebrate the contributions of students, teachers and partners to the field.

CodeHS representatives worked with Glenbard East students in Advanced Placement (AP) Computer Science A, AP Computer Science Principles and Computer Discoveries.

They helped students create a program called Beats with Code, showing a connection between coding and music.

Students were excited, engaged and wanting to do more with this type of activity. Glenbard East students will do more of this during second semester in Computer Discoveries exploring generating art with code, creating a mobile app, coding in sports and more.
