Heritage Presbyterian Church installs the Rev. Sara K. Snowden as pastor

Heritage Presbyterian Church of Carol Stream celebrated a Service of Installation welcoming the Rev. Sara K. Snowden as their pastor.

The service marks a milestone in the process that brought the Rev. Snowden to Heritage. She was ordained as a Teaching Elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA) on April 23, 2022 at First & Central Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, Delaware. Snowden started with Heritage and led her first service with the congregation on May 8, 2022.

Key elements of the installation service included a statement on the mission of the church, a charge to the pastor and congregation, and a presentation of gifts symbolizing the beginning of Snowden's ministry at Heritage. The Moderator of the Presbytery of Chicago led the ecumenical group of people who participated in the service.

The group included pastors and leaders from other local churches, as well as members of Heritage. They all gathered to celebrate with the Heritage congregation. The Rev. Snowden's parents traveled from Texas to join in the celebration. A joyous reception followed the service.

Heritage is "a family in Christ that strives to serve others in His love."

The church welcomes and embraces all generations and is committed to inclusion and service to the community. They meet in person and online at 10 a.m. Sundays at the church, on Kuhn Road just across from Glenbard North High School. For more information, visit heritagepresby.org.
