NCH golf outing raises $874,000 to help build cancer center

Northwest Community Hospital Foundation's annual Golf Classic at Medinah Country Club on July 18 raised $874,000, far surpassing previous fundraising records.

Elite Ambulance was the Title Sponsor for the 25th anniversary of the event, which also included an online silent auction and raffle that was supported by attendees and members of the community.

Proceeds will support an ambitious plan to transform cancer care for the region with the centerpiece being a new state-of-the-art, stand-alone cancer center on the former Motorola campus in Schaumburg.

"Our 25th anniversary golf outing was a record-breaking success as our partners and friends enthusiastically showed their support for a world-class cancer center that is becoming a reality," said Dr. Henry Dominicis, co-chairman of the event and physician director of Ambulatory Services at NCH.

Fellow co-chairman Giancarlo Pacini, who is senior vice president of Healthcare and Senior Living with Leopardo Construction, said, "I can't think of a more fitting way to celebrate this amazing event's 25th anniversary than with another record. We are so grateful for our sponsors and the golf classic committee for making this possible."

"Having built a solid foundation of providing outstanding care, we have a vision to make the best care even better, right here near family and friends," said NCH Foundation Executive Director David Ungurean.

"The community is key to making this vision a reality through their input and philanthropic support. Our golf classic supporters have played an integral role in helping our vision become a reality through their partnership."

NCH looks forward to hosting the 26th Golf Classic in the summer of 2023 at Medinah Country Club.
