Midwestern University announces new administrative appointments, promotions

Kathleen H. Goeppinger, Ph.D., president and chief executive officer of Midwestern University, recently announced changes to the university's leadership team, which include several appointments and promotions, as well as the retirement of several valued members of the Midwestern community, effective July 2022.

Midwestern's new leadership team appointees include individuals promoted from within the university's existing faculty and staff ranks. Yir Gloria Yueh, Ph.D., has been promoted to vice president and chief academic officer, Medicine, Graduate Studies, and Podiatric Medicine, after serving as Dean, College of Graduate Studies.

Kaila Osmotherly Dougherty, O.D., FAAO, has been promoted to vice president, clinic operations, from her previous role as medical director for the university's Therapy Institute and associate dean in the Arizona College of Optometry.

The following individuals have been promoted to administrative roles as Academic Deans:

• Sheri Brownstein, D.M.D., Dean, College of Dental Medicine-Arizona

• Jared Chamberlain, Ph.D., Dean, College of Health Sciences, Glendale Campus

• Michael Fay, Ph.D., Dean, College of Graduate Studies

• Carla Gartrell, D.V.M., J.D., DACVIM, Dean, College of Veterinary Medicine

• Laura Rosch, D.O., C.S., M.S., FACOI, Dean, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine

As these members of the Midwestern University community assume their new leadership roles, the University wishes to recognize the valued individuals who have retired and thank them for their dedicated service to the institution, including: Dean Malone, M.B.A. (Vice President, Special Assistant to the President for Finance); Kathleen Player, Ed.D., M.S.N., M.B.A., MS-C (Vice President and Chief Academic Officer, Medical and Health Sciences Education, and Vice President, Clinic Operations); Thomas Graves, D.V.M., Ph.D., DACVIM (Dean, College of Veterinary Medicine); Jacquelyn M. Smith, Ph.D. (Dean, College of Health Sciences, Glendale Campus); P. Bradford Smith, D.D.S. (Dean, College of Dental Medicine-Arizona).

Midwestern also recognizes Thomas A. Boyle, D.O., M.B.A., outgoing Dean, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, who will be transitioning to developing new CCOM partnerships with external hospitals and community healthcare institutions.
