Huntley's Shepherd of the Prairie to ordain new pastor July 23

The congregation of Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church in Huntley has unanimously called Ryan Lee Mackey to serve as its pastor alongside Senior Pastor Mark Boster.

Mackey will be ordained into the ministry of Word and Sacrament in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church on Saturday, July 23 at 10 a.m.

Bishop Jeffrey Clements, Bishop of the Northern Illinois Synod, ELCA will be preaching and serve as presiding minister at the service of Ordination.

"We are very pleased that Ryan has chosen Shepherd of the Prairie as the site of his Ordination," said Pastor Boster, "and welcome him and his family to our church and the Huntley community."

Pastor Ryan will begin his ministry at Shepherd of the Prairie on Aug. 15.

Refreshments and fellowship will immediately follow the service.

For those who are unable to attend the Ordination of Ryan Lee Mackey in person, the service will be live-streamed at www.sotp.org.

Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church, 10805 Main St., under the leadership of Senior Pastor Mark Boster, has served the Huntley community for over 20 years.
