Bring donations for Elmhurst AAUW's upcoming Used Book Sale

The Elmhurst Area Branch of the AAUW is now collecting books for its annual used book sale Aug. 4-7 at Sandburg Middle School, 345 E. St. Charles Road in Elmhurst.

Books, CDs and DVDs can be dropped off in designated bins starting Saturday, July 9, through Monday, Aug. 1 at the following locations: Elmhurst Public Library, 125 S. Prospect; Park District Courts Plus, 186 S. West Ave.; and Sandburg Middle School, the preferred location, between 9 a.m. and noon weekdays sorting will be taking place.

Thousands of used books, CDs, and DVDs will be available at the sale. Well organized into over 30 different categories, the four-day sale features a large children's section, as well as a collector's area. Proceeds benefit local scholarships and national AAUW research and programs for women.

A preview sale will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, for a $10 entrance fee.

The sale continues from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6; and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, with a $10 bag sale.

Admission is free on all days except for opening night when there is an entrance fee of $10 per person. There is a special sale on Sunday when everything you can fit into a brown grocery bag is just $10.
