Tuesdays in the Park are Back at Village Green

Grab your picnic blanket and get ready to head over to Village Green for Tuesdays in the Park! The popular outdoor event is back through July 26.

Family entertainment starts at 6:30 p.m., with the weekly headlining band playing from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. Guests enjoy live music and performances from a variety of talents throughout the summer at scenic Village Green Park, 1810 Walters Ave., in the heart of downtown Northbrook. Fun activities and free prize drawings await.

Tuesdays in the Park concerts are supported by Concert Series Sponsor Northbrook Bank & Trust.

June 28: At 6:30 p.m., when Istvan starts rocking, kids can't help but join in! He performs an irresistible mix of interactive rock 'n' roll, country, pop-punk and singalongs that get heads bobbing. During performances, Istvan and His Imaginary Band loves to involve the crowd. Whether it's playing freeze dance mid-song, inviting them up to sing along or having them ring out the rhythm on a tambourine every audience member can be a part of the fun.

At 7:15 p.m., Rosie & The Rivets bring a high-energy stage show that's fresh and fun for all ages, performing an electrifyingly female-fronted retrospective tribute to the first ten years of Rock & Roll (1954-1964). Rosie's powerful and versatile voice is backed by a band with extensive theater/tribute/roots music experience.

July 5: At 6:30 p.m., get ready to wiggle, giggle, dance and sing with Ben Tatar! Ben has been teaching elementary school general music to grades one-five for nearly two decades and is a multi-instrumentalist - including trombone, tuba, piano, guitar, bass, and vocals.

At 7:15 p.m., join Dancing Queen for the ultimate tribute to the music of ABBA - sure to capture the hearts of fans of all ages. This live show is full of musical precision, fabulous flair and fashion and promises a mesmerizing ABBA experience for every "Chiquitita," "Super Trouper," "Fernando," and "Dancing Queen" around.

July 12: At 6:30 p.m., with songs recognized by National Public Radio, the Parent's Choice Awards, and Parenting Magazine, ScribbleMonster's approach to music, learning and play has earned them spots on television and radio. As pioneers of the "Kindie Rock" scene, ScribbleMonster's performance encourages audience participation and opportunities for creative expression.

At 7:15 p.m., join Chicago's Rhythm Rockets who have been a mainstay of the Chicago music scene since 1996, delivering 100+ shows a year. With their unique brand of vintage rhythm & blues, the Rhythm Rockets' performances celebrate the diversity of music for which Chicago is famous. The Rhythm Rockets are backed by three saxophones, upright bass, drums and guitar.

July 19: At 6:30 p.m., the cast of Northbrook Theatre's Youth Company will perform excerpts from their summer production of "Honk Jr.," before the evening's headlining concert.

At 7:15 p.m., Generation brings it all to the stage. It's a show of iconic, popular hits. Some of the best groundbreaking music of all time! Beatles to Stones, Bowie to Led Zeppelin, Aretha to Sly Stone- songs always sure to bring smilin' faces in the crowd.

July 26: At 6:30 p.m., Jeanie B! will perform an interactive show jammed-packed with dancing, sing-a-longs, and plenty of silliness.

At 7:15 p.m., Motown, Funk and Soul is exactly the sound that defines this Chicago-based band. Second Hand Soul Band takes you back to the days when all that mattered was meeting your friends for some drinks and an all night-dance party!
