Lisle Community Band hosts free summer concerts on Thursdays

The Lisle Community Band invites everyone to bring a lawn chair and enjoy an evening of music at the Lisle Park District Band Shell.

A variety of marches, classical music, and popular music from movies and Broadway will be performed this summer.

The concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Community Park, 1825 Short St. Admission is free, and refreshments will be for sale.

In case of rain or extreme heat, the concerts are held in the Lisle High School auditorium.

The Lisle Community Band's Concerts in the Park will begin on Thursday, June 30, with American popular and patriotic music, as well as an "Armed Forces Salute."

On July 7, it will be music by Beethoven, Gershwin medley, and "A Salute to Ol' Blue Eyes."

On July 14, the concert will feature Beethoven's "Egmont" Overture, "Blues Brothers Revue," and highlights from "Jersey Boys."

On July 21, enjoy Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana"; Giulio Briccialdi's "Carnival of Venice" flute solo; a Beatles medley; and a Star Trek Medley

On July 28, the concert series will wrap up with the Lisle Community Jazz Band featuring "Music of the Big Bands."


The Lisle Community Band, started in 1987, provides high quality musical performances for the residents and guests of the village of Lisle, while reaffirming the community band's heritage in American music. The membership includes musicians from high school age to retired adults. The Lisle Community Band is a member of the Association of Concert Bands and is in compliance with ASCAP and BMI standards
