Make a Splash with Northbrook Park District

Summer is here and the pool season is in full swing at the Northbrook Park District! Pool passes are now available for purchase online and at any Northbrook Park District registration office.

Northbrook Sports Center Pool, located at 1730 Pfingsten Road, is now open, featuring a 25-yard pool with six lanes, a leisure pool, a vortex pool, zero-depth entry, two diving boards, deep water diving pool with a drop slide and a climbing wall.

The Meadowhill Aquatic Center (MAC), located at 1501 Maple Avenue, opens June 11. Swimmers can enjoy four separate outdoor pools -a lap pool, a children's water playground, a diving area with three boards, and a pool with tube and body slides - along with a large sun deck and a full-service concession stand.

Lap Swim: A couple of hours each morning are dedicated solely to Lap Swim at both pools for those who want to get in a workout. Visit nbparks.org for a full schedule.

Swim Lessons: Parent/Child, Preschool and Youth Group Swim Lessons are available. Visit nbparks.org for more information on each class or to register your child. Private lessons are also available and require a request form found at nbparks.org.

Aqua Fitness: Get a great low/no impact workout in the pool. The buoyancy and resistance of the water allow you to improve your flexibility, strength and endurance. Aqua fitness is offered in both shallow and deep-water formats, flotation devices are provided, and you don't need to know how to swim to participate. Participants select the individual dates to attend. A minimum of four participants must be registered 24 hours before the class for the class to be held. Check Aqua Fitness on the Rainout Line for the status of each class. Aqua Fitness classes are now included with membership to Techny Prairie Activity Center (TPAC). Registration required for all participants, including TPAC members.

Although the summer season has already started, the District is still hiring for lifeguard positions. With competitive pay, paid training and a great work atmosphere jobs with the Northbrook Park District provide leadership skills and resume building opportunities. Visit nbparks.org/jobs for complete job postings and to apply online.
