The eagerly anticipated Hidden Gems Garden Walk is scheduled for Saturday, June 25th, from 10am to 3pm. Sponsored by The Town & Country Garden Club of Libertyville, the Garden Walk features five beautiful gardens located throughout Libertyville.

All of these gardens have been devotedly designed, each of them with their own distinctive qualities. Patrons will see a decorative tree house that serves as a backdrop to a colorful display of flowers; a woodland shade garden with fountains and potted tropical plants; a certified butterfly garden; one of the ten oldest red maples in Illinois; a gentle cascading waterfall, and a

creative floral venue used for hosting summer concerts.

Whatever the garden's theme, attendees will be impressed and inspired by the spectacular colors provided by annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees and vines. They will see instances of how to create a garden providing four-season interest, and also see examples of how to create a steady stream of bloom from Spring to Fall.

At the individual gardens you will find creative Tea Cup gardens for sale, plus raffle tickets for a chance to win a larger container garden. In addition, The Lake County Forest Preserve will have a staffed Buckthorn Information Table at one of the Garden Walk homes.

All Proceeds from the Hidden Gems Garden Walk will go towards funding for public plantings, the Libertyville Township Food Pantry, and a Stephanie Greene Scholarship for students pursuing a college degree in a horticulture-related program. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $15 on-line at TownCountryGardenClub.com or in person (cash/check), at the Libertyville Village Hall and at How Impressive located at 326 N Milwaukee in Libertyville. On the day of the Garden Walk, tickets can be purchased at How Impressive for $20, or at the Garden Walk Home located on Hunters Lane.
