Aurora area residents get 'A Glimpse into the Hindu Civilization'

Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh Naperville-Aurora, along with 15 other Indian American organizations, hosted "Darshana: A Glimpse into the Hindu Civilization" exhibition on April 16 at the Fox Valley Mall in Aurora. The exhibition was attended by over 300 interested residents of Aurora and Naperville.

The exhibition for all ages and walks of life is designed to engage Aurora and Naperville area residents, while fostering common ideals and shared values. It was an opportunity to deepen awareness of Hindu culture and contributions to society, creating an environment of harmonious coexistence while pursuing "Universal Oneness." This exhibition provided glimpses into "Hindu Dharma," a way of life, and "Hindu Civilization," including traditions, culture, contribution, and fun facts.

Teens and middle school volunteers explained the posters. The exhibition also showcased several Indian traditional artifacts and a photo booth with props were set up for photo opportunities. Snacks and tea were served to the guests.

In the exhibition, there were at least 25 elected officials, including a state senator, mayors, city council members, school board members, and others. The event was started with kids chanting Hindu prayer mantras. Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin presented the city's proclamation marking April 16, 2022, as Darshana Day.

The attendees were excited to learn about the ancient Hindu civilization and appreciated the efforts by volunteers in educating the community.

A similar exhibition will be showcased in Chicago on May 14.
