Library exhibit offers a 'Window into Wheaton and the World'

In April, Wheaton Public Library's Arts and Culture Center is featuring "Window into Wheaton and the World" by Vallari Talapatra.

Vallari feels most alive when immersed in observing the world around her. She has been taking snapshots in her mind before ever having a camera. Vallari's background of being an architect and a landscape designer has helped her to continue to become a keen observer and planner.

As she tells her students when teaching design, a plan is worth every minute you spend on it. It is the same with pictures - as Vallari likes to tell a story through each of them and to do that she concentrates on the "right moment."

The Wheaton Public Library welcomes local artists to exhibit their work and community groups to present their organization in the Arts & Culture Center, located on the first floor of the library, 225 N. Cross St.

The library also offers a monthly online "Art Demo," provided in partnership with the DuPage Art League.

In March, it was "Passionate Pastels" with artist Mike Kolasinski demonstrating techniques to produce images with visual excitement and passion. Inspired by nature's light and shadow in everyday, undisturbed scenes, he creates boldly expressive compositions.
