The Glendale Heights Junior Woman's Club is celebrating 40 years of service to the village of Glendale Heights and surrounding communities.

Fundraising for local charities, families in need and an annual scholarship was disrupted through the period of COVID-19. But the club is back in action once again.

On Friday, April 8, they will be hosting their third Adult Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt and Hunters' Bash at 8 p.m. at Camera Park and Glendale Lakes Golf Club in beautiful Glendale Heights.

Tickets for the event cost $20 in advance or $25 at the door that night. This is an adult-only affair. One must be at least 21 years to attend.

The ticket purchase allows the use of a tote for egg collecting in a special roped off area of Camera Park.

Every egg will hold a candy and 40 special eggs will have an added prize in celebration of the club's 40th anniversary.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a flashlight or wear one.

Competition can be fierce for the over 3,000 eggs available, and some "unsportsman-like" behavior was noted in 2017 and 2019. But no injuries were reported, and much laughter was heard.

The Hunters' Bash at Glendale Lakes Golf Club consists of an appetizer buffet and sweets table, cash bar, and an assortment of grown-up baskets to be raffled off.

Local vendors and businesses have given generously to fill these themed baskets with valued services, gift card and items.
