Illinois state house of representatives pass the Sun Salutation Yogathon (Surya Namaskar Yogathon-SNY) resolution

House of Representatives from the State of Illinois has passed the Sun Salutation Yogathon (Surya Namaskar Yagna-SNY) resolution presented by State Representative Daniel Didech of Dist 59. The resolution was adopted on February 15, 2022.
Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) organizes its nationwide annual Health for Humanity Yogathon to promote the spiritual, mental and physical well-being of community members.
Rep. Didech also attended the SNY conclusion day and learned about the yoga, community service HSS is doing. HSS is thankful to the state Rep. Daniel Didech for spreading the message of 'Yoga for Health and Health for Humanity'.
This year, over 12,600 enthusiasts actively performed daily sun salutation sets for the duration of this campaign. Over 3,000 students and teachers from various schools participated across the country. Total 728,795 sun salutations were collectively performed. Many participants acknowledged its benefits in attaining physical and emotional balance and committed to continuing this activity regularly. Additionally, 161 Yoga teachers attended special local events where they were felicitated for their work in the local communities.
129 elected officials, including several US senators, Governors, State representatives, and Mayors, issued proclamations to recognize this initiative and encouraged their constituents to participate in this valuable health awareness program.
