North Suburban YMCA announces programs for winter and spring

The North Suburban YMCA announced a new lineup of winter/spring offerings, with classes beginning Jan. 4. Registration is available online and in-person.

With a variety of choices that promote health and wellness for all ages, many programs are offered both virtually and live at the Y, 2705 Techny Road, Northbrook.

The Y's winter offerings include an eclectic variety of programs that promote wellness and healthy living in fitness, sports, aquatics, children's programming and artistic enrichment for all ages.

The Y continues to offer its popular classes for the special needs community, dance for ages 2 through adult, visual arts classes, youth development, and preschool to team gymnastics.

The Y presents a complete wellness journey from free fitness consultations and assessments to unlimited group exercise classes such as yoga, Les Mills, cycling, cardio and strength, aqua fitness and more. In addition, personal training and chronic disease prevention programs like diabetes prevention programs and enhanced fitness for arthritis management are also available.

The 2022 Winter/Spring program highlights include:

• Healthier You Weight Loss Course & Accountability Circle;

• Preschool basketball, Move & Play classes, and volleyball for elementary students;

• YMCA Educational Series with a variety of speakers;

• Smartlab classes in robotics and engineering like Amusement Park Tycoon, Video Game Design, and more;

• New art classes for all ages and workshops for the whole family;

• Specialized Mini-movers dance classes for ages 2 and older;

• Classes and programming designed for seniors.

A membership to the North Suburban YMCA entitles participants to reduced pricing for classes and programs, priority registration, and access to the Y at all times. The Y also provides financial assistance and will never turn away anyone due to the inability to pay.
