Reminisce about the Golden Age of radio

Schaumburg Township District Library is remembering holiday radio traditions of years past on Tuesday, Dec. 21.

For many people, the holidays are a time of traditions, and there were plenty of entertaining traditions during the Golden Age of radio - from Jack Benny's annual shopping trips to Lionel Barrymore's portrayal of Ebenezer Scrooge. Presenter Steve Darnall offers an afternoon full of classic seasonal sounds from radio's past, designed to spur the imagination and share a bit of Yuletide spirit.

Holiday Traditions from Radio's Golden Age will be held from 1:30-3 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 21, in the Central Library's Rasmussen Room. Masks must be worn at all times during this in-person program, regardless of vaccination status.
