Schaumburg Township District Library is remembering holiday radio traditions of years past on Tuesday, Dec. 21.

For many people, the holidays are a time of traditions, and there were plenty of entertaining traditions during the Golden Age of radio -- from Jack Benny's annual shopping trips to Lionel Barrymore's portrayal of Ebenezer Scrooge. Presenter Steve Darnall offers an afternoon full of classic seasonal sounds from radio's past, designed to spur the imagination and share a bit of Yuletide spirit.

Holiday Traditions from Radio's Golden Age will be held from 1:30-3 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 21, in the Central Library's Rasmussen Room. Masks must be worn at all times during this in-person program, regardless of vaccination status.

Registration is open now. Visit SchaumburgLibrary.org/events or call (847) 985-4000 to register or to learn more. The Central Library is located at 130 S. Roselle Road, in Schaumburg.

Schaumburg Township District Library is committed to providing relevant information, books, media, technology and programs for all ages in a safe and friendly environment through the service of well-trained staff.
