Frassati Catholic Academy to Host Harvest Hustle 5K Run and Walk

Frassati Catholic Academy in Wauconda is inviting local residents to participate in their Harvest Hustle 5K Run/Walk on October 3. The event takes place at 9:00 a.m. at YMCA Camp Duncan in Ingleside.

The USATF-certified course will wind through a wooded setting and will feature chip timing and awards for the top 2 male and female finishers in multiple age groups. Runners of all skill levels and walkers are welcome.

"We're very excited to be hosting this great family event in a setting that should be perfect for this time of year," said Lisa Schwabe, Marketing and Development Director for the school, which serves students from pre-K to 8th grade. "Our school and its predecessors have been serving families throughout Lake County for 125 years and we look forward to welcoming students, alumni, families and friends on the 3rd."

Registration is open at https://raceroster.com/events/2021/51393/fca-harvest-hustle-5k. Entry fee for individuals is $30 but families of four can take advantage of a discount of $100 per family. Runners and walkers who sign up by September 20 will be guaranteed an event t-shirt.

Schwabe also indicated that there are a limited number of event sponsorships still available. "This is a great opportunity to associate your business with an institution with a rich tradition in communities like Wauconda, Mundelein, Island Lake, Volo, Round Lake, Barrington, and others." Potential sponsors can contact Schwabe directly at 847-526-6311 x248.

Funds raised from the event will assist with the on-going support of Frassati Catholic Academy.

"With a storied and successful history of providing Catholic education throughout the area, we are committed to continuing to serve families for years to come," said Frassati Principal Tammy Kleckner. "While the funds raised from the Harvest Hustle will allow us to educate students, including many from underserved communities, we also look forward to providing a fun, healthy, family-friendly event for everyone. We look forward to a great turnout for the Harvest Hustle."
