York Township honors York Center Fire Chief Andy Bonomo on his retirement

On Monday, Aug. 30, York Township Supervisor John W. Valle presented Fire Chief Andy Bonomo with a resolution praising his astounding 49 years of devoted service to York Center Fire District.

Chief Bonomo has grown the fire protection district over the years and has shown his continued dedication and compassion through his responsive, direct and forward-thinking leadership.

The resolution was passed unanimously by the York Township Board of Trustees at the August regular board meeting.

Additionally, Highway Commissioner Dick Schroeder dedicated the stretch of 16th street from Church to Meyers Road to Chief Bonomo with signs placed at both intersections.

Supervisor Valle said, "The board and I express our deepest appreciation and profound gratitude for Fire Chief Andy Bonomo's 49 years of public-spirited service to our community. We extend our best wishes for his continued good health, good fortune, happiness and love of his family and friends. Have a wonderful retirement, you deserve it!"
