Schaumburg Library's Flash Fiction Contest open for submissions

Adults and children ages 6 years and older are invited to enter the Schaumburg Library's Flash Fiction Contest, which ends at midnight Saturday, July 31.

Categories will be divided into youth, teen and adult, with winners in each category.

To enter this creative writing contest, write a short story in 1,000 words or less and submit it in a Word document file with the story title as the file name. To find out more or submit an entry, go to SchaumburgLibrary.org/flashfiction.

Stories will be evaluated on style, creativity, structure, grammar and word choice. Winning stories will be published online. Physical copies and PDF entries will not be accepted, nor will entries submitted in previous years. There is a limit of two entries per person.

More events, programs and classes for July are listed in the online Library Guide at SchaumburgLibrary.org.
