Schaumburg Library Changes Mask Policy and Schedules In-Person Programs

As of Friday, June 11, masks are optional for vaccinated patrons at all Schaumburg Township District Library locations, in accordance with the State of Illinois Phase Five Reopening. Masks are still required for unvaccinated patrons and everyone ages 2 through 11 years old. The library is asking anyone in the Youth Services area to wear a mask in order to protect younger patrons.

The library is also holding a limited number of in-person programs and asks participants to read the safety guidelines for each program before coming in. Some of the upcoming in-person programs include Family Storytime on Wednesday, June 16; a concert in Town Square on Monday, June 21; the Mindful Parent Group on Wednesday, June 23 at Spring Valley Nature Center; and the Teen Book Discussion on Thursday, June 24. Details are available for these and many more programs in the library's June Guide, available at SchaumburgLibrary.org.

Those who are not comfortable coming into the library buildings can still check out materials from the website and pick them up using the drive-up window and pick-up lockers at the Central Library in Schaumburg, or curbside pick-up at the Hanover Park and Hoffman Estates branch libraries. There are also many online programs for all ages taking place on Zoom. See the online Library Guide for a full listing.

For more information, go to SchaumburgLibrary.org or call the library at (847) 985-4000.
