Schaumburg Library's Kanopy Provides Movies, Shows for Free

Critically-acclaimed movies, award-winning foreign films, inspiring documentaries, children's shows and more are available for free on Kanopy, a video-streaming service offered by the Schaumburg Township District Library. Kanopy can be accessed with a Schaumburg Library card and allows users to choose from thousands of movies that can be downloaded onto a TV, mobile phone, tablet or computer, all without advertisements.

People who sign up for Kanopy will receive 10 play credits per month to use for playing videos, which can be accessed for three days. Most videos use one credit, but Kanopy Kids uses a few more. On the first of each month, the Kanopy user automatically receives another 10 credits. To start, go to SchaumburgLibrary.org and click on "E-Library" in the menu, then choose "Movies, Music and Magazines" to find Kanopy.

The Schaumburg Township District Library and its branches in Hoffman Estates and Hanover Park are open to the public, with limited hours and capacity. Please go to SchaumburgLibrary.org for details or call the library at (847) 985-4000.
