Shepherd of the Prairie to host 'Big Drop Off' clothing and textile fundraiser April 10
On Saturday, April 10, the Youth Ministry Group of Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church will hold a "Big Drop Off" fundraising event to receive community donations of clothing and textiles from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church parking lot, 10805 Main St. in Huntley.
"This fundraising event is being held to help us to raise funds for our high school mission trip," said Kurtis Arndt, Youth Ministry intern at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church. "If members of our community have begun decluttering items in their homes, we welcome their donations. The fundraiser is powered by Savers in Crystal Lake. For every pound of clothing and textiles donated to this fundraiser, the youth group will receive a monetary donation from Savers."
Accepted clothing item donations include shoes, coats, scarves, handbags, wallets, fashion accessories, ties, belts and backpacks. In addition, a variety of home textile items will be accepted, too, including bedding, comforters, blankets, sheets, towels, linens, tablecloths, curtains, and pillows.
