You are NOT Alone! We are NOT Alone!

TASC Members Deliver Flowers, Masks and Turkish Delight to Their Neighbors

#YouAreNotAlone

A smile is the greatest gift that one can give to another. And making a difference in someone's life may sometimes be as easy as asking how they are doing and offering a hand.

On Sunday, March 14, volunteers of Turkish American Society's "You Are Not Alone" campaign went around the facility's neighborhood knocking on the doors of once strangers now- neighbors to tell them that they are not alone. They visited over 150 houses, gifting flowers, masks and Turkish delight. Their visits were met with gratitude and excitement. Some who were not home returned the kindness through the organization's Facebook page (Turkish American Society of Chicago) sending messages of gratitude and joy.

One of the messages read: "I am touched by such kindness and thoughtfulness. I am humbled by such caring in this difficult time. God bless you and your work. I am sorry about my hesitancy. These are difficult days with so much hatred. You have restored a bit of my faith. Thank you again!"

So far, in the scope of their "You Are Not Alone" campaign which started as a response to the pandemic, TASC has hosted 3 drive-thru (covid-friendly) festivals, delivered masks to health and governmental facilities and is working on few other community service projects to combat loneliness.

You, too, can become a part of TASC's #YouAreNotAlone campaign simply by picking up the phone and calling or visiting (from a distance) a friend!
